Another sizzling style, the gladiator sandal was seen across many catwalks including Christian Lacroix in Paris, 3.1 Phillip Lim in New York and D&G in Milan.

The rugged sandal packs a sexier attitude this time. Some are embellished with rivets giving an S&M sexiness while others come in exotic skins. Our favourites were those in metallic shades with a futuristic slant.

Stylist Dolphin Yeo likes them with short skirts and tailored shorts, while stylist Joshua Cheung says they go with day dresses.

'It's that juxtaposition of a masculine-style sandal with feminine frocks that makes it modern and playful,' he says.
